How PsychPal uses AI
PsychPal uses third-party AI services to reply to you. With your permission, the data below is sent to them only to produce PsychPal's replies, transcribe your voice and read replies aloud.
What is sent, and to whom
- Anthropic PBC (Claude AI): your chat messages, journal text, mood entries, any screenshots you attach, and the profile details you choose to add (such as your first name and personal history), so replies fit you.
- OpenAI (voice): your voice recordings when you tap the microphone, to turn them into text, and PsychPal's replies when you choose to have them read aloud.
- D-ID (optional talking avatar): only PsychPal's reply text, and only if you turn the avatar on.
Requests pass through our hosting provider's secure AI gateway (Emergent), which does not store them.
How your data is protected
- Anthropic and OpenAI do not train their AI models on your data.
- Data is encrypted in transit (TLS 1.3).
- We do not sell your data or share it with advertisers.
- You can delete your account and data at any time from Settings.
Full details are in our Privacy Policy and Terms of Service. By tapping “I Agree” below, you give permission for PsychPal to send the data listed above to Anthropic, OpenAI and (if you turn on the avatar) D-ID, for the sole purpose of providing PsychPal's AI features.
Nothing is sent to these services unless you agree. PsychPal's chat and journal need this to work, so choosing “No thanks” signs you out; you can come back and decide any time.
